Crown Heights, Brooklyn
The West Indian Day Parade NYC 2024 marches on Eastern Parkway from Lincoln Terrace Park to Grand Army Plaza with a presentation in front of the Brooklyn Museum. It’s in Crown Heights, Brooklyn; on Labor Day Monday, September 2, 2024, from 11am to 6pm. FREE. 🇹🇹
This year’s theme is “Evolution.” That accurately describes this moment when America is waking up to the fact that it is the most diverse country in the world. So many wonderful cultures contribute to the American fabric. Now is the time to be proud of our heritage ~ all of it.
West Indian Day Parade
Brooklyn’s West Indian Day Parade features over half a million New Yorkers marching in Carnival costumes to giant sound systems blasting soca from trailers pulled by semi trucks. Over a million people watch the parade.
Bring cash because the sidewalks along Eastern Parkway turn into a giant Caribbean street fair with great food, drinks, and artisanal crafts. There is lots of good jerk. We recommend the curry goat.
More Information
The parade is produced by the West Indian American Day Carnival Association.
