Marble Hill is the northernmost tip of Manhattan. Now connected to The Bronx, it was cut off from Manhattan by the Harlem River Ship Channel in 1895. The Broadway Bridge now connects Marble Hill with Manhattan.

The Manhattan/Bronx competition shows in the neighborhood’s governance. Marble Hill gets local services from The Bronx, but is considered part of Manhattan for the rest of government.
