Maluma is a Colombian reggaeton, Latin trap, and pop star, and actor. He is very handsome and everyone seems to be crazy about him, but Maluma is one of the Medellín-based artists who is redefining reggaeton with a softer, more romantic, more melodic sound. Reggaeton is growing up. Nobody is twenty-one forever. 🇨🇴

It’s Maluma Baby!
Juan Luis Londoño Arias was born in Medellín on January 28, 1994. Maluma’s career started when “Farandulera” became a radio hit in Medellín in 2010. A Farandulera is a party girl.
In January 2021, he became the first man on the cover of Elle Magazine with the cover headline, “It’s Maluma Baby!” The internet picked up the baby theme with thousands of memes by women lamenting that the very handsome artist had a baby with someone else.
In the article, he talks about the joys of being forced to stay home in Medellín, Colombia with family and friends during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also talks about working with Jennifer Lopez on the new movie “Marry Me.” Stardom can be dizzying, but Maluma seems like real good guy.

A Mystical Experience
Editor Kíko Keith: I had a mystical experience with the Maluma song “Hawái.” I was dancing salsa at La Placita in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, one of the best places to dance salsa in the world. Everyone was singing along with a song. I didn’t know what it was, but it stuck in my head. The most beautiful woman in the place came up to me and asked to dance. She was dressed all in white, and so was I. I danced a little with her, but was shy about my salsa then. We parted, but later in the night she waved goodbye as if she knew me.
The next morning I woke up with the woman and the song stuck in my head. I wondered why I felt both so strongly. My salsa teacher knew the song. Here’s the video.
Then I looked at the date and realized what I had felt so strongly. It was September 7, the same day I broke up with one of the great loves of my life. She was Colombian and we broke up in the Colombian Andes actually. The woman at the salsa dance was dressed in white, just like the woman in the video. My ex was crazy about social media and used to post things to make me jealous, just like in the song. She even told me so once. She was beautiful and toxic, just like the woman in the song.
So as usual nothing really happened. I went to dance and heard a song I liked. But as usual in my life, there are a bunch of connections that can only be described as mystical. I loved this woman more than I ever loved anyone before, and it took a long time to get over her. The experience with the woman in white felt to me like our spiritual selves were saying goodbye. I was finally ready to move on. Love is dead. Here’s to love. “Muy lindo en Instagram lo que posteas…” Adios amor.
