Gotham FC is Metro New York’s women’s professional soccer team. Many of the players also play on their respective national teams. They are 2023 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) champions. This is great football.

Coaches
Yael Averbuch West is General Manager and Head of Soccer Operations. Born in New York City, and raised in Montclair, New Jersey, she was a great college and professional player, and former member of the awesome U.S. Women’s National Team from 2007-13. Averbuch played for Sky Blue FC in 2009. She has led Gotham FC since 2021. @yaelaverbuch
Head Coach Juan Carlos Amorós is from Madrid, Spain. He has coached top teams in Spain, England, and the United States. He came from La Liga’s Real Betis, and NWSL’s Houston Dash. Amorós has been Head Coach since late 2022. He was named 2023 NWSL Coach of the Year. @juan_carlos_amoros 🇪🇸

Gotham FC
Founded in 2006 as Jersey Sky Blue FC, Sky Blue FC was a National Women’s Soccer League founding team in 2013. They changed their name to Gotham FC in 2021.
After finishing last in the league in 2022, Gotham brought in Spanish coach Juan Carlos Amorós, who led a storybook turnaround!
Gotham FC finished the 2023 regular season in 6th place, only winning a playoff berth on the last day of the season, but went on to defeat Seattle Reign FC for the 2023 NWSL Championship.
Lynn Williams was Gotham FC’s top scorer. Jenna Nighswonger was NWSL Rookie of the Year. Juan Carlos Amorós was named NWSL Coach of the Year.
