Jewish Culture
The most interesting thing about Jewish culture is that it teaches you to think. Many religions teach you to follow religious leaders, or perhaps memorize holy books. But in Jewish culture, you have to read the Torah, the Jewish holy book (first five chapters of the Bible), and defend it. This teaches you to think and to speak.
Klezmer
Klezmer is Jewish folk music from Eastern Europe. It developed separately from jazz, but has the same vibe. Klezmer and jazz go together as if they were created by the same hand. It makes Jewish jazz spectacular.
Jewish Festivals
The High Holy Days have several parts:
- Rosh Hashanah is Jewish New Year.
- Ten Days of Repentance
- Yom Kippur is the Jewish Day of Atonement.
- Sukkot is the Jewish fruit harvest festival.
