45th Portuguese Festival 2024
Newark’s Portugal Day Festival is a series of community events starting on April 11 and ending with the Portuguese Festival from June 7-9, 2024 and the Portugal Day Parade on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
- Opening Presentation of Honorees is at Peter Francisco Park in Newark, New Jersey; on April 11, 2024 at 6pm.
- Folklore Festival is in Ironbound Stadium in Newark, New Jersey; on May 18, 2024 at 7pm.
- Grand Gala is at Casa Seabra in Newark, New Jersey; on May 23, 2024.
- Portuguese Month of Gastronomy is a May Portuguese food festival in several Newark restaurants. Sol Mar Restaurant is a big supporter.
- Portuguese Flag Raising Ceremony is at Newark City Hall on June 1, 2024 at 12noon.
- Portugal Day Mass is at Newark Cathedral on June 5, 2024 at 7pm.
- Portuguese Festival is at Peter Francisco Park and Ferry St in Newark, New Jersey, from Friday-Sunday, June 7-9, 2024.
- Portugal Day Races by lar dos Leões, are on Ferry St in Newark, on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Newark’s Portuguese Festival was started in 1979 by the Bernardino Coutinho Foundation. Today it draws around 300,000 people to enjoy Portuguese culture. Go hungry and bring cash because there is a lot of good Portuguese food.
